License Reinstatement

Excel Testing is pleased to offer the LNA Competency Exam for those who currently hold an inactive or expired Vermont LNA License.

Individuals looking to reinstate their license MUST have received an Authorization to Test letter from the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation. may register to take the competency exams with Excel Testing. You must register for both written and skills, along with uploading the Authorization to Test letter you received from the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation to your Excel Testing portal made during the registration process.

Requirements of Renewal:

  • LNAs shall demonstrate, via job description or other appropriate employer verification, at least 50 days (400 hours), in the two years preceding application, of employment as a nurse assistant or in a role, regardless of title or obligation to hold a license, that would reasonably tend to reinforce the training and skills of a licensed nurse assistant. See 26 V.S.A. ยง 1645.
    1. A licensee who does not meet the active practice requirement shall repeat the nursing assistant education program and competency examination.
